Married men to Priesthood is a given right?
There has been some talk lately of allowing married men into the priesthood around the Catholic Blogosphere. There is some mistaken notion that the Church should allow priests to marry, and only forbade it in the middle ages for purely pragmatic reasons. There is an assumption that there is absolutely not spiritual, scriptural or theological reasoning behind this. (See Matthew 19:10-12). If it is...

Divorce, Suicide, Depression, and a Meaningless...
I read a recent article, and had a discussion over the high likelihood of suicide among teen sons.  New York Times cover it here.  Apparently, boys are three times as likely to commit suicide then girls. I read another article, again in the New York Times, covering a Record Level of stress or depression among College Freshmen here.  Terry Mattingly, in his Get Religion Blog, asks the question he...

What is Catholic film? Review of the Rite. →
I agree, God is really messy.  Sometimes a religious movie ends up being a cheap excuse where art is wasting for the sake of some cheesy message. The first few paragraphs are incredibly insightful.  I don’t know if I am going to see another exorcism movie.  I just think popcorn and pizzazz don’t match that sort of event, on the one hand.

Positive thinking is not always good enough, apparently.  I read this oped piece in the NY Times today, challenging our pop spirituality notion that our best intentions will cure us. …Such beliefs have implications for how we regard people who are ill. If people are insufficiently upbeat after a cancer diagnosis or inadequately “spiritual” after a diagnosis of AIDS, are we to assume they...

Orphanage, again
I made a trip down the orphanage again.  Since I am so close, I have been good at being a regular contributor.  I also want to be more connected then I have been, at least I hope much of my music profits will go directly to the orphanage (assuming there be any at all.) Surprisingly, a long time friend had asked several months ago about going on the weekend to help out.  Gabby was a classmate from...

my album updates
I could very well have an album recorded very soon.  The final few beats that I have needed have finally been finished.  That gives me enough time to edit and sharpen them to precision (using equilizers and all).  I also have ample time to work the last few sets of lyrics that I need. I have done something of a resolution to developing the narrative storytelling lyrical style, that I have lagged...

so apparently, MTV’s new show Skin is so scandalous it will violate child pornography laws. One has to ask itself how much MTV is complicit in Pedophilia.  I mean MTV is quoted, that this show staring Teenagers, about Teens having sex, is actually geared toward adults!!!

The Hijinks of the Friars
I made a salad in the and left it on the dining room table, or something. I went back to the kitchen and lost my salad. I thought I had a brainfart, and put it somewhere stupid like the microwave. Anyways, I went to where it should have been, and Fr. Behan was sitting there having his soup. Fr. Tom Behan is like a little kid sometimes, and he knows it. He put my salad in the cupboard. I laughed,...

Some people think being Catholic is incredibly boring.  There is a long list of things you can’t do. On the contrary, Catholic invented Mardi Gras, and we invented beer.  If it wasn’t for all the monasteries throughout Europe, we would not have developed so many different types of beers, ales, and other fine liquors.  Even Wine making became an art mastered by Catholic monks. Because...
