Here is something from God’s Word:

The Lord is gracious and merciful, slow to anger and abounding in mercy. (Psalm 145:8)

Since Love, Mercy, and Compassion in Infinity are part of God’s very being, it just would be God we were talking about were he not to instantly receive you. So that is why Jesus reiterates it vividly in this parable:

What man among you having a hundred sheep and losing one of them would not leave the ninety-nine in the desert and go after the lost one until he finds it? And when he does find it, he sets it on his shoulders with great joy, and, upon his arrival home, he calls together his friends and neighbors and says to them, ‘Rejoice with me because I have found my lost sheep.”

I tell you, in just the same way there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine who have no need of repentance. (Luke 15:4-7)

But, as you can see, Jesus actually takes it a step further. Anon, please understand, that Jesus has already been pursuing you, chasing after you, and invisibly trying to get you to see how valuable you are to him!

The Lord is close to the brokenhearted, saves those whose spirit is crushed. (Psalm 34:19)

It may be that you have harmed yourself because you chose to believe the lie that you are unloved or unworthy, then you are caught in a trap that is harder to get out of, and easier to continue hurting yourself. There are certain chemical imbalance factors that may come into play here, and you may need more help.
