Lent is near, and I WILL BE blogging
I will not be giving up tumblr for Lent, in fact, I will probably be posting more in the next two months then I have been posting in a long time. This week I will be posting a few Chastity & Relationships themed posts from the perspective of a Celibate person. I will be posting up portions of some of my January intensive semester assignments, namely reflections from selections of Old Testament Wisdom Literature, as well as some reflections on Creation Theology. I will be posting several new hip hop reviews as well.
In the past month I wrote a couple reflections, To the Non-Religious Person Who Says they Follow the Teachings of Jesus and 5 Reasons I love Religion!. These two posts were somewhat a response to the “I Love Jesus & Hate Religion” viral vid, but also general responses and critiques of arguments in favor of Jesus without Religion. A little under a year ago, I wrote several reflections on “Myths About Religious People,” which superseded the whole video, but I think adequately answer the debate. I have several new followers, so I urge you to go on my page under Reflections and look up the Myths posts, or read anything else that catches your attention.
As many of you know, I am a Friar in the Order of Saint Augustine in formation for Holy Orders. Although my superiors fully support my use of social media (so long as it doesn’t detract from my studies or ministries), they have little to no clue that my posts make a difference in people’s lives. I hope in some way it can be made known to them. Anyways, although I may not follow back (sometimes for safe boundaries in our Church), I pray frequently for the intentions of all of my tumblr followers. So if you find yourself needing prayer for specific things, you can post them in my askbox, and that way all of my tumblr followers will join in praying for you too! Smile, Jesus Loves you Guys!
