Catholic New Media Conference, and the woes of Catholic blogging
I have been twittering with Father Shane, who is at the Catholic New Media Conference, asking if I am there. I had been in conversations with Crusader Maximus, who is our new prenovice/postulant. My superiors support my blogging (and my hip hop). They have no clue that my blogging is, or even can ever possibly, be meaningful to anyone. For some silly reason, God choses to work through this blog, and I keep getting positive feedback for what I write. I really appreciate my followers, and I pray for you all frequently!
Considering my superiors don’t understand mainstream blogging, facebook, and tumblr is way off the map for them anyways, I wish there were some way I could show them that this is a significant ministry for me, being here on tumblr with you awesome Catholic peoples. All this, while Father Shane is wondering about the lack of Augustinians at the CNMC12. If the Augustinians can’t see how deeply significant it is for me to be here on tumblr, idk how they will pay for my presence at CNMC. Keep me, and us in your prayers, and hopefully there are ways I might be able to expand my online reach.
I am currently working on my next hip hop album, beginning my final year of Theology, before I am eligible to be ordained. And yes, I do plan on tracking down Father Shane, concelebrating Mass with him, taking a photo of it, and posting it on tumblr. It is important for us to be here, in the slums of the internet, among all the atheists, pornographers, trolls, anti-catholics, shallow hipsters, and all our frenemies. It is important for us to support eachother, instead of deciding who is holy enough or real-catholic enough to be in our tumblrcatholic crew.
